Honey Mustard Sausages with Mash
Juicy sausages in a sticky honey mustard glaze, served with creamy mash. A proper comforting tea.
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 12 pork sausages
- 1kg potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 3 tbsp milk
- 25g butter
- 2 tbsp wholegrain mustard
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- Salt and black pepper
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan).
- Place the sausages in a roasting tin and drizzle with the cooking oil. Roast for 20 minutes.
- While the sausages are cooking, boil the potatoes in a large pan of salted water until tender (about 15–18 minutes).
- Drain the potatoes and mash with the milk, butter, salt and pepper until smooth and creamy.
- Mix the honey and mustard together in a small bowl. Remove the sausages from the oven and pour the honey mustard mixture over them. Toss to coat.
- Return the sausages to the oven for another 10–12 minutes until sticky and golden.
- Serve the sausages with the creamy mash and some vegetables on the side.
Tip: You can use any sausages you like – pork, chicken or vegetarian all work well.
