Beef Mince Dirty Fries
Crispy oven chips loaded with beef mince, melted cheese and all the best toppings. A proper fakeaway the whole family will love.
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 700g potatoes, cut into chips
- 500g beef mince
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 peppers, diced
- 2 tsp garlic granules
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp chilli flakes
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 150g grated cheddar cheese
- Salt and black pepper
Method
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (200°C fan). Toss the chips with 1 tablespoon of cooking oil, salt and pepper and spread out on a baking tray. Bake for 30–35 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crispy.
- While the chips are cooking, heat the remaining oil in a large frying pan. Add the onion and peppers and cook for 5 minutes until softened.
- Add the beef mince and cook until browned. Stir in the garlic granules, smoked paprika, chilli flakes, salt and pepper. Simmer for 5–10 minutes.
- Once the chips are cooked, transfer them to an ovenproof dish. Spoon the beef mince over the top and sprinkle generously with cheese.
- Return to the oven for 5–8 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
- Serve straight away.
Tip: These are great for sharing. Let everyone add their own toppings at the table.
